Frequently Asked Questions

What is Coaching all about?

International Coaching Federation defines coaching as "Partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential".

The coach's role is to facilitate positive change. The focus of this type of coaching lies in that it enables or helps people achieve their goals while working with them on areas where they need help the most, as opposed to focusing solely on tackling issues head-on and changing things up entirely from deficit thinking patterns.

What is the difference between Coaching and Counseling?

Coaching focuses more on moving forward which usually does not involving going back to past issues and talking about it. Counseling however emphasizes on psychopathology-centered approaches that focus heavily around emotional processing; this includes working closely together during sessions by analyzing any painful memories brought up and potentially visiting the old traumas being revisited.

As both a trained coach and counselor, I am able to utilize both approaches to work with my clients depending on the issues that surfaced.
